Vocabulary!!!

So this week we are learning to figure out the words that we don't know. We went into our Independent Tasks then we have to do at least 4 of the tasks. So the day before yesterday I chose to do the vocabulary and here is the picture of it. We need to pick a word that we don't quite understand. I chose the word cluttered so here it is. I hope you'll like it!!!

Dividing In Parts With Remainders!

Now just like last week we have learnt to divide in parts but there is a twist, with remainders. It's easy to understand and to do. This can work on any numbers with any digit. I hope you'll find this very helpful and enjoyable. I find this easy and I might use this strategy. I thought I explained it it pretty well. I might need to find a strategy that is bigger than this. But I hope you'll like it bye!!!

It's all a story!!!

We have been looking at a video about a chimp that was sent into space. As you saw the last couple of weeks, I have been posting about the space chimp. Now I made a first draft about it called 'It Was All A Story'. Next time I might post the second draft, and I will improve some of it. I have been a bit frustrated about writing it, because there are so many things going on but here it is, so I hope you will like it bye!

It was all a story

First Draft

Early 1960, they planned to send a animal into space, because they do not know what will happen if they send an astronaut. Until in 1961 they did it, they chose to do it at N.A.S.A in America.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, silence was made. No other noise than breathing. (Whoosh!)  Charles blasted off. He was nervous and scared because the take off was very bumpy, and like he was inside a car driving in a gigantic turtle back. He felt sorrow because he’s leaving earth and most of all a best friend.

Charles was a young chimp, yes they chose a chimp, he has an age of 15, he was trained for year to be sent into space.  He was trained by Michael, for other people they taught he was just a trainer but for Charles he was parent.

Michael was half Spanish and half american, he taught Charles how could he speak spanish and american or English. Michael raised Charles when he was just 1 year old, he fed him and raised him as he was his own child. He took care of him until now, with his functional self.

Back in early 1960 when Charles was doing his daily routine, then Michael’s boss told him if they can use his chimp to be sent into space, he asked Charles if he would want to do it. He did not force him, first he gave Michael a thumbs down. Until Charles saw the sadness in Michael’s eyes and the sorrow of his face, even if he did not want to show it, and the next beautiful day, while they were eating he gave Michael a picture of a spaceship with a thumbs up, then he did do it. Michael told his boss he change his mind and wanted to do it.

He was only allowed to take a picture, and he chose to take the picture of Michael and him.

He was chosen because he is just apparently a chimp, they do not want to risk a life of a human, instead they have chosen to risk a life of a chimpanzee to go into space. He was used for the experiment that they planned in 1960, they wanted to know what will happen if they send a chimpanzee into space.

He was on a spaceship that was as skinny as a pencil and as tall as a tower.Then (Ksh! Ksh!) a voice of a man said “ The capsule will be taken off, repeat the capsule will be taken off”. Sound was made by the capsule like (ngk! ngk!). Step by step and boom and boom. He was scared, he closed his eyes and hoped for the best.

“Am I still alive?” he thought. He opened his eyes, saw the galaxy, stars and planets “ Well this is beautiful” he said, then he opened a zipper to his body then pinch himself very hard. And even said “Aaghhh, gnhh, aaghhr oh dios, I regret doing that, but I'm still alive!”.  He held a button with a picture of a microphone in it, then (beep!) it sounded, so that means he have to speak. He informed them that he is still alive or have survived .

And He have heard a voice, it was Michael and he said “ Good luck my baby Charles, I hope you the best, I will miss you and I love you!” And that was the last words he heard until. Kaboom! The ship was hit by a rock or what  they call asteroid, he was put in a coma. And slept for 65 years.

After 65 years  he woke up, he felt confused, dizzy and want vomit. He questioned himself “What am I doing here?” while he was hitting his head on the wall that surrounds him. All of a sudden (Bang!) the memory has overcome, he remembered why he was there, he remember who is himself and who trained him. As the memories are coming back, he turned and saw his face on the glass, he saw the ageing the he did not experience, but experienced by his body. He have that is grey, mustache that is white and have a wrinkly, soggy face.  However one part still remain and it’s still the same, his eyes.

The stars he saw was bright some was yellow or golden as gold, red as rubies and some are white as diamonds. They were like treasures from a  chest, that  pirates needs to find. Planets that are round as marbles, some even  have rings that looks like halo.

Yet nothing can beat the beauty that he saw, the Earth. He thought he was in a beautiful dream, but not. He said “ Is…..this…...heaven.” Then he felt the most beautiful feeling he have ever felt in his whole life.

He looked and messed with the buttons, then saw the very most valuest thing he ever own, the one and only picture of him and Michael he suddenly felt sadness and happiness in the same time because he remembered when they played.

At finally he press the right one, to get in the atmosphere of the Earth. It was rough like climbing a mountain or a volcanic eruption. The fastness slowed down, when he pulled down the parachute like a bike that was very fast then a person pulled down the front brake. He was near the land and he said…...

“ Ayudame Dios! Pero Michael Estoy Llegando A Casa!”

As he slowly opened his eyes and while the dry dust cleared. The strong feeling of happiness he never felt before disappeared before his very eyes. Even just a little word or even the very smartest human that had ever lived could not describe what he was feeling. The excitement and the joy fade away. He wanted an earth that he had lived in, the person that he loved, the food he liked, the fresh air he breathed and the joyfulness he always felt that nobody ever imagined.

He opened the capsule and imagined that it was just a nightmare. As he looked around and said “Aghhh, aghhh hnghng mm, why me? Why should I feel like this?” He felt angrily disgusted, sad for people and crazy like the joker.

It was like a disgusting ghost town, the no-man's land and was crushed like a vehicle. No humans, no life and no Michael. All of the beauty and happiness vanished. The trees that he climbed on were gone.  

The feelings he felt swamped his brain, while tears came out. He looked at his hands and began to fall down. He wanted to stop crying, but he couldn’t. Yet he forgot that he was still holding the picture of Michael and him. As he cried he held the picture and cried and cried. He thought nobody can do this, even the most evil people on earth. But animals can, and at that moment he wanted revenge.

He ran, ran, ran, ran and ran and……. Whack! He fell and was put into a deep, deep sleep.

The thing that woke him was voices that are loud, deep and big. Then one said, “Do you want to let him join us?”

While a second voice said ”Maybe?”

The last one with the very big voice said “Let’s put him to the test!”

Charles stood up and said “Who are you animals?”

They talked and told their names. “My name is Rock”  one said.

”My name is Brock”another said as he pointed himself.

“I’m Hawk the leader of the clan” the final one said, while going close to Charles.

The small one was Rock, the bigger one was Brock and the biggest one was Hawk. They were all Gorillas and looked hypnotised, they were a bit old and looked evil.

“What did you do to this beautiful earth, that was a dream and now, a nightmare?!” Charles said.

“We all destroyed it” Rock said with a giggle.

The leader Hawk talked to Charles and asked if he wanted to join. “Would you like to join our clan and you will be more powerful, than any animal in the animal kingdom?” He smiled and waited for the answer .

But here is what he said ”No way you destro...yed our home. It’s not just a planet it’s our home, wh….y would you want to destroy it?”

“We did not destroy it we made it our home, but better than any home.” While they burst out in laughter all of them were crying.

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!” they all laugh and then said “Now we are all gonna destroy you”.

“What?”. Charles began to stumble down and the Gorillas took bats, knives and weapons.

He then struggled to stand up. At last he managed to stand. For his life he ran, while saying “I do not just want to be alive by the robots, but I want to live a life of my own or just meet my friend Michael”.

He ran inside a building that was very close to him. Bang, bomk, crash. He crashed all over the place. As he screamed, then fell. While crawling he saw and opened door.

Inside he found……..

Michael! Charles quickly stood up, then ran and went to him. Charles scaredly wrote a sentence “Did they hurt you?” The gorillas went inside too. Charles hid under the bed where Michael was. The gorillas smiled.

Michael called Charles, while saying “ No way, this was a prank! My friend, this is my friends that I commanded to prank you. I have a space satellite and saw you were coming to earth. So I wanted to prank you. The people did this. They destroyed earth but not the animals. They had war for 30 years and... then had war again for 30 more years. Until now they have put these factories that pollute the air! I’m sorry you have to return to our earth like this”. And he kissed him on the cheek.

Then that boomed! The memories, that Michael was a prankster. Michael always pranked him, again and again. Michael had his old and creaky voice. He was very old and had a really wrinkled and bald head. He was in a bed with an oxygen tank connected to him. They stopped for a moment, only breath filled the room. Then  Michael patted Charles, “I’m very glad I saw you”.

He grabbed a notebook, titled ‘My bucket list’ with a heart shape. There was a list and the only thing that was left there was…… see Charles. He grabbed a pen and crossed the words.  At that very time, they hugged in the bed and saw darkness appear.

“That is a very good story MIchael and sad as well” said the teacher with claps from the her and the kids. “What’s your inspiration?” asked the teacher with a questioned face.

“It’s because I’m getting a chimpanzee tomorrow, and I’m gonna name it Charles”.

Then 15 years later at June 6, 1961 at 5:55am they sent a chimp into space the chimp was sent into space…….

W.A.L.T Divide in Parts

We have been learning much about division and some techniques about how to solve these problems. This week we have learnt to part the numbers to make it easier. If the number is 84 x 6, I half the 84. So now we have been asked by our teachers to make our own DLO. If you have not been following my blog and you are new, a DLO is a Digital Learning Object, like a video. I have been concentrating about learning it, and now I have learnt it and I'm proud of it. Island Bound
