Musical Industries: Song Writing

In the previous week, we have been started making our own individual songs. However, before writing, we have first looked at song lyrics that we could take inspiration from; how each should be layered. (First verse, chorus, etc...)[Bohemian Rhapsody would be one of the exceptions to that, as it contains not, lyrics.]
When I started writing the chorus which I did first, I brainstormed what I really liked, what type of genre that I would be doing, the melody of the piece and generally the type of song that I might write. I thought of my chess set [I really love chess], from there I built on, I "named" my chess set Aurora, which is also ironic because not only is it my chess set's "name" but also my great grandmother's name, both of which and whom I love very much.
As I was writing the verses I began to think about the melody of the song, how would it sound? After finally getting the melody sorted, I continued the songwriting part. Finished with the songwriting, at home I started and is currently composing the song;  the chorus has been sorted, for the right hand at least [piano], the rest I am working on.
I really enjoyed writing the song I would love to do it again.

Quality Comment

Making a quality blog post is essential, in addition to that making a quality comment that could match it is even more important. Comments are important in helping bloggers improve the quality of blog posts that they are doing. It could help them determine the words that they use, the structure of how they "layer" the post in sections and how they make the post in general. In this slide, it will be giving you the basics of making a comment and how to make it of good quality.

Multiples and Factors

In our math sessions, we have now been reviewing topics that we have learned before and in by doing so we will be able to remember how they work and what they mean.  Two of these topics are multiples and factors, two relatively simple topics to understand, by all means not very hard to learn. In this slide, I have put an explanation for both multiples and factors. Also questions, which gives an example of how they might be used in math.

Sport: Hurumanu

Now that the "Art and Science: Hurumanu" is finished, we have now moved on in to "Sport/PE: Hurumanu". In this module, we have started to learn about some new/(forgotten) skills; trapping the ball in football likewise, not only that but also enhancing the skills and or the knowledge that we already know. Another knowledge that we are focusing on is learning the rules of the sports that we are currently doing. Football, Basketball and Netball; we all played the various sports in a multi-sport game. In which I learnt more about Netball, a game that I have not played before;  but glad that I have now.  The mechanics of the game is quite simple; we are divided into two groups where a certain number is called and a sport from the three choices is called out as well, we then had to play that game until one of the teams have scored. This Hurumanu has been overall quite fun and I would joyfully do again.

Height and Feet Measure

THE FEET CAN MEASURE THE HEIGHT


The bones of the feet can tell a lot about a person. What do feet reveal about a person's height? Forensic anthropologists team up with law enforcers to help solve crimes.
Bones of the feet can reveal an interesting fact about an individual. Let's combine math with forensics to see how.

Aim:  To use forensic science techniques to measure the height of a criminal.

Material:
  1. Rulers 
  2. Metre Ruler
  3. Person
  4. Flat Wall 

Steps:

  1. Get a person that you can do this experiment with.
  2.  Grab your measuring tools, rulers and metre ruler.
  3.  Put his/her back against the wall and use the metre ruler to measure the height.
  4.  Record the height and move on to measuring the foot.
  5.  Lay the foot down on the ruler and measure.
  6. Record the measured foot.

Forgery

Graphologists are forensic experts who look at handwriting.

Aim: To Analyse a signature using forensic science.

Material:



A pen / pencil
Tracing Paper
Writing paper
A ruler


Steps:

A. Top Of Letter Analysis

1. Sign your name on a sheet of writing paper and get someone else to try to copy it.
2. Place the tracing paper over both signatures and make a dot at the top point of each letter – for both signatures.
3. Join up the dots for both signatures to get two zigzag lines across the signatures. Are the lines the same?

B. Bottom of Letter Analysis

1. Put some fresh tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Put a dot at the bottom of each letter.
3. Join up the dots to make zig zag lines. Are the lines the same?

C. Slant Analysis

1. Put a fresh piece of tracing paper over both signatures.
2. Mark a vertical line down through the middle of each letter (using a ruler), slanting it in the same direction as
the letter.
3. Compare the set of lines for both signatures.

No, It was not lowered enough around the A's and the G's and are very far apart,

Conclusion:









Activity : Get someone to try to forge your signature and then try both of these methods to analyse it.

Write up the findings based on the following questions.


  Writing an analysis of a friends forgery.
     



The size of the letters – all big, all small, mixed?

Where they dot the ’ i ‘– over the top or off to the left or off to the right, or not at
all


How they cross their t – straight, angled up or down, where on the t stroke it
is crossed


The slant of the letters (use a ruler) – forward, backward, upright, mixed


Are there breaks in words, or are all the letters in the words joined up


The length of stalks on y, q, p, below the lines – long or short

Brotherhood: The Completion

The end is near! For our film that is; the production of our film is coming to an end, finally! Currently, now we are on post-production which is editing all our 200+ shots. there have been many challenges over the time that we have been working on this project, ones that we had to push over and do. Though there were limitations on what we were able to do my partner and I are proud of what we have achieved through the course of this voyage in stop motion. There was a lot to be learned and a lot to be conquered; as if solving puzzles after puzzles until you get to the satisfying and gratifying finish that you've been aiming for.  We have experienced and learned a lot from doing and moving forward to this project which I'm sure we will be able to use in the rest of our lives, and a memorable feat that we have accomplished.

Forensic Science

1. What is the definition of forensic science?
It is the science for law and civil laws as such. It normally and mainly favours the criminal side during the investigation. Forensic Science analyses the evidence that was gotten in the investigation, like for example blood, fluids, extract, etc.

Fingerprints

Aim: To look at the different types of fingerprints.

Material: 

  1.   Finger Stamp Pad
  2.   Baloon
  3.   Fingers

Steps

  1.   Grab your Finger Stamp Pad.
  2.   Open it to reveal the pad.
  3.   Take your thumb of any other fingers and push it against the pad.
  4.    With your pigmented finger,  grab your balloon (not inflated) and stamp your finger on one side.
  5.   Grab the opening of your balloon and begin blowing it.
  6.   Once inflated you will now see your fingerprint on "close up".
  7.   Observe and compare.

Summary of findings:

We learned that fingerprints are different on people; as well as different on other fingers from one person. The arrangement of the fingerprints differ in many ways yet all will contain a shape. Which could be a whorl, loop or an arch.
