Understanding Probability

This term, which is the final term of this year; we started focusing on probability. A part of maths where there are no exact answers and where it could go either way. But basically, it is where you look and see the changes of an event occurring.  Learning probability was amazing, understanding it wasn't really hard; and once you get the hang of it is reasonably easy to do. Here is a DLO that I did to help you understand more of what probability is really about.

What are Reflections?

This week we started to know about reflection. In this video I talked about how does a reflection work and basically I talked about, what a reflection is. Anyway I hoped that you've enjoyed this video, i know I did, I enjoyed making it while learning what reflections are. As always have a nice day, bye!

What are tessellations?!

This week our math group, (Diamonds) started to learn about tessellations. After learning about tessellations, we had to make a DLO.If you don't know what tessellations are, tessellations are made up of different kinds of shapes, to know more please take a look of the video below. I hope that you'll like this video, have a nice day, bye!

Learning Geometry and Rotation.

This week and the week after we started to learn about geometry and rotation in math . These are the three videos about them. We also learnt names, symmetry, edges  and corners of 2D & 3D shapes . Next we learnt about how to translate in maths, where you move an object in a certain direction. Also we looked at the Nets for 3D shapes to learn more please check out the video below. Lastly we also learnt about rotation, which was how to rotate things in certain ways. Thank you for looking into my blog, comment down below if these videos help you to understand 2 and 3D shapes, translations and rotation, bye!

What are percentages?

WALT: Solve Percent Equations from Large number

This week I decided to do a math DLO that is not in screencastify please comment down below which one do you like best? The Screencastify or the slide. Anyway this strategy is about percentages and how to answer questions about them. To know more check this slideshow out. This strategy is really, really easy I learnt it very quick. I hope you'll find it easy to learn too, anyway have a nice day, and I hoped you've liked it, bye!

WALT: Fractions- Solve part unknown problems using multiplication and division.

This is a strategy that we've learn this week which was to solve part unknown problems using multiplication and division.  This strategy was very easy to learn and was very easy to use. I hope that you'll use when answering par unknown problems, bye!

W.A.L.T add and subtract fractions

These two strategies are what we've learn this week. It was very fun learning them and answering the questions about them. I made this DLO so you can learn these strategies. It might be hard when your simplifying them but it will be easy when you get the hang of it.

W.A.L.T tell 24 hour time

This is my video teaching you guys the 24 hour time if you don't know it yet. It is very easy to learn it, just like how you learn 12 hour time. Anyway I how you will learn it if you already haven't.

What are squared numbers and what are square roots?

This week our maths group stars learned what are the squared numbers and square roots. It will be very easy if you know your times tables but if you don't it will be hard, but just a bit. and if you didn't know this is the symbol for square roots(√). Any way here's the video, enjoy!

W.A.L.T- Divide w/ Remainders

This strategy is also another review about working out Division. In this video I will teach you about 3 to 2 strategy about working division out. The one that I mostly used in this video is really easy and can work most of any division problems, I really like it. Any way have a nice, happy day bye!

W.A.L.T Multiply Multiple Digits

This week we are learning to multiply multiple digits. This strategy might be hard at first, that you won't even get it, but when you get used to it, it would be really easy. This strategy would work when the both numbers that your multiplying are in the tens or more. This video is about 9 mins so you might get bored so maybe get a snack before watching the video or just skip to the important part. I really like this method because it not that simple and is a bit challenging. Anyway have a nice day, bye!

W.A.L.T Use Written Form to Solve Multiplication

This strategy/method is a review of what we did last year it was using the written form to solve multiplication problems. It is a really easy method, easy to understand and also to learn. In my thought it is the most easiest method to solve multiplication so far. Any way have a very nice day, bye!

W.A.L.T Multiply in Parts

Today We are learning to multiply in parts. If you don't use this strategy yet or you didn't learnt it yet here it is. It is one of the easiest method when answering a multiplication problem, you can do this method in any problem you want but in only needs to be in multiplication. Anyway, bye!

W.A.L.T Division in Parts

This is a revision of the strategy that we've learnt last year which is Division in Parts. This strategy is very easy, it's just as it said in the title, partitioning. As always have a nice day.

Maths Reflection

Today I did a reflection about what stage I am in, in maths. It is a short one, but I hope you enjoy it!

W.A.L.T Subtract Negative Integers

This week we learnt a new method which is how to subtract negative integers. It could be hard, the first time that you learn it but it will be easy quickly. As always I hope you understand and learn this method so you can use it. But anyways I hope you have a good day, bye.

W.A.L.T - Add Positive and Negative Numbers

Last week we had to do a DLO for this strategy. It is about how to Add Positive and Negative Numbers. In this time my next step could be Subtracting Positive and Negative Numbers. It was really easy and I picked up really quick so I really recommend it. I really do not know if that would be the next. But as always have nice day!

W.A.L..T- Add Equivalent Fractions

This week we learnt about how to add equivalent fractions. This is the DLO that will show you how to do it. It is quite difficult at first, but when you get the hang of it it's really easy.
I'm really sorry that I didn't do a Screencastify, but I will make one in the next week but anyways, bye!
W.A.L.T- Add Equivalent Fractions

P.k

  • Numerators and Denominators
  • Equivalent fractions

Here is the first question
¾ + 8/12 =

First, what we need to do is to understand the question or summarize it.
So for this we need to look at the two denominators. Because the denominators are different it’s really hard to answer the question.
Now, we need to see if you can multiply the smaller denominator to be equal to the bigger one, also multiply the smaller numerator too.

In this we will have.
9/12 + 8/12 =

In this time we can add them easily because the both denominators are the same

9/12 + 8/12 = 1 5/12

This is a method that you can use, if the denominators in your question is in the multiplication table it is in.
For example:
4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and so on.

My next step could be:
W.A.L.T Subtracting Factors.

Anyway have a good day and bye!

W.A.L.T Using Decomposition

This week, the stars (our group in maths) reviewed a method that we did last year. Which is "Using Decomposition", it was a method that I normally use to solve subtraction many questions. It is the most easiest method/strategy that I know, except using a calculator (joke). Please let me know if it worked for you, have a good day, bye!

Adding And Subtracting Tenths!

Here is my video about adding and subtracting tenths. I learn this strategy yesterday so I hope you will like it. It is my first video of the year so I was a bit nervous, but here it is. Bye!
