Live Aid - Queen

Ending the term with Live Aid, we are looking at the benefits ad the change that many has claimed the greatest concert to have ever been performed. For this, I look at the band that seemingly stole the show. Queen. In this project, I have chosen a song that I feel has conveyed the most message. 'We are the champions' is the song that I have chosen. This song was sung by Queen because of how it sums up what Freddie Mercury views were. He didn't join the Live Aid concert out of guilt, as he said "Even if I didnʼt do it, the poverty would still be there.--" following on he stated, "All we can do to help is wonderful things.". He was proud that they were invited, that his life's work paid off in a way,  being able to participate in an event that is integral. And so, Mercury said "--the song [We Are The Champions] seems to convey that anyway, without us thinking about it. Thatʼs whatʼs magical, and I think thatʼs going to probably bring tears to my eyes, I tell you, when I do it.” before the Live Aid.

We Are The Champions, from Live Aid 1985:

A concert that is similar is possible. Now more than ever, there are many musicians; many more fans that would be keen on attending the concerts. As such a similar scale could be created if cooperation was made. Live Aid was used into helping people, rights to live; with the push for equal rights, such as "Black Lives Matter" as well as "Asian Live Matter" may be brought to the public even more if a concert such as Live Aid was created. Though it is possible it may not be highly likely.

However this may change with the upcoming years, musicians are bringing more change over the past years. Which is aided by the social media that we use to communicate with such artists and helps to influence how our world is shaped. Musicians like BTS who talked about their experience with discrimination helped to give insight into racism. Given that they're a big-famous band a lot has been able to see, affecting others. Singers such as Beyonce has given insight into her visceral pain, as well as highlighting her life experiences, this inspired many of us who might've experienced it also.

Live Aid has also been updated and added to the "My Map" about music through time.
